The Sri Lankan parliament passed the second reading of the 2011 Budget that took place at the parliament today with a majority of 104 votes.
The budget proposals received 150 votes in favor while 46 voted against it.
The main opposition United National Party (UNP) and the Marxist Democratic National Alliance (DNA) have earlier announced that they would vote against the budget.
The Committee Stage of the budget will commence tomorrow (30) and continue till December 10.
