The Sri Lankan government today said that while the subjects under each senior ministry had been announced through a Gazette notification, a common fund allocation has been made to the senior ministers.
Leader of the House, Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva revealed this in the parliament in response to a query by Opposition Leader Ranil Wickremasinghe about the funds allocated to those holding senior ministries.
The President last week appointed 10 senior ministers.
Commencing the debate on the third reading of the 2011 budget, the main opposition United National Party criticized the appointment of senior ministers and questioned the subjects dealt by the respective ministries.
